This 60-minute DVD contains beautifully filmed improvised dancing, performed by NYC-based master free-stylists in solos, in groups, at the club and at the studio. In rare interviews the dancers explain why they dance and how dance functions in their lives. They describe what the club, and the House vibe, means -- to the individual and community (a home, therapy, a non-judgmental social place, a space to be creative and free). Profiled dancers: Archie Burnett, Barbara Tucker, the late Willi Ninja, Brahms “Bravo” LaFortune, Brian Green, Ejoe Wilson, Conrad “SP” Rochester, Carlos Sanchez, Iriena Herrera, Cindylee “Asia” Moon, along with Marjory Smarth, Kris Buxenbaum, William “Quick” Reynolds, Courtney “French” Ffrench, Adrian Alicea, Willy Pinedo, Omar Kashim Henry.
Credits: Sally R. Sommer, Executive Producer; Charles Atlas, Director/Editor; Bobbi Tsumagari and Archie Burnett, Co-Producers; with Charles Gelber of Gelber Television and the late Michael Schwartz of Character Generators, with additional editing by Marc Ray and Shoko Letton.
